ECS writers cop county awards

SULLIVAN COUNTY — The Sullivan County Management Development Program announces Erica Conner, a senior at Eldred Central School, as the first prize winner of the literary contest, “Sullivan County is the greatest because… .” Conner will enjoy a four-person season pass to Lake Superior Park this summer. Second prize, a four-person pass to Fort Delaware, goes to Andrea Bailey, also a senior at Eldred Central School.

A special thank you goes to volunteer judges, Denise Frangipane, Program Officer; Gerry Foundation, Inc.; Walter Keller, Proprietor of Great Liberty Craft and Trading Company and Poet Laureate of Liberty, New York; and Stan Raiff, Founder and Executive Director of Catskills’ IDEA. The judges reviewed the 72 entries and selected the winners.

The winning entries will be on display in the Sullivan County Government Center lobby. Certificates and prizes will be presented to the winners by Raymond N. Pomeroy, II, Chairman of the Sullivan County Legislature.
