Narrowsburg native featured nationally

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — The May 2001 issue of American Artist features the colored-pencil work of award-winning artist Anita Orsini of Fort Lauderdale, the former Anita Peck of Narrowsburg.

Among the illustrations shown are pieces of her own collection from the collection at the River House in Fort Lauderdale and a piece which won the Lyra Award for Outstanding Recognition at the Colored Pencil Society of America’s Eighth International Exhibition in 2000.

Winner of the People’s Choice Award at the Environmental Images Exhibition with the Broward Art Guild, Orsini is a member of Broward Art Guild, the Colored Pencil Society of America and the Broward Community College Potters Guild. Her work is currently part of a show at School House Square in Delray Beach.

In addition to private instruction for both children and adults, she is a high school substitute art teacher at Westminster Academy and conducts art classes for at-risk children through the Youth Resource Center there.

A graduate of Narrowsburg Central School and the Art Institute at Fort Lauderdale, she resides there with her husband and two sons.
