Blossoming with possibilities

By KRISTA GROMALSKI

MILFORD — Memorial Park was bustling on Saturday, April 21 as racers, walkers and visitors came out for the Pear Blossom Festival’s tent sale and 5K Run/Walk. Taking first place in the men’s and women’s divisions of the run were Ron Kraus of Montgomery, NY and Jennifer Malavolta of Henryville, PA.

The festival officially kicked off on Friday afternoon, with an opening ceremony at the Milford Borough Hall.

Other weekend events included a Pear Blossom Bakeoff at the First Presbyterian Church, a Children’s Activity Carnival at The Upper Mill and craft demonstrations. On the formal side, the Pear Blossom Ball was held at the Tom Quick Inn, with entertainment by The Dan Bradley Big Band.

Festival activities will continue through April 29, with The Waterwheel Café hosting live entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings (see the listing of events here or visit the Pike County Chamber of Commerce website).

For more information, call the Pike County Chamber of Commerce at 570/296-8700.
