Ted’s gets
a new look
By MARY GREENE
JEFFERSONVILLE — Co-owners Sabhat and Gus Kabakci,
pictured, at center and right, and brother Navzat Can, at left,
welcome well-wishers to Ted’s Restaurant, in Jeffersonville, on
Sunday, April 22 to celebrate the restaurant’s arty new appearance.
Beloved for many years for its Greek, Turkish, Italian and American
cuisine and old world, comfy ambiance, diners can now feast their
eyes on the restaurant’s new décor.
“I feel great,” said Sabhat, whom everyone calls
Mrs. Gus. “I feel as though I am walking into my own home.”
As to customer reaction, she said, “Everybody loves
it. It came up so bright, and the colors are so soft. Everybody
asks me, ‘Why don’t you go into the home decoration business?’”
The renovation, which took nearly six weeks to
complete, features the work of wood sculptor Ed Schmidt, known for
his wooden totem pole that overlooks the field at the Woodstock
site, in Bethel.
The new furnishings accommodate seating for 95.
Ted’s Restaurant, located on Main Street in Jeffersonville, is open
seven days a week from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. For more information
