Tusten board
proposes four-year clerk term
By TOM KANE
NARROWSBURG — Two years isn’t enough.
“The job of the town clerk is becoming more and
more technical and requires more training than previously so. A
four-year term makes sense,” said Tusten Supervisor Dick Crandall.
“When you get someone trained, it’s time for another election.”
Other board members agreed during the town meeting
on April 9. A public hearing will be held at the next town board
meeting on May 14, at 7:15 p.m., to include the term change on the
November ballot.
In other town business, the board announced that
Litterpluck—a day dedicated to clearing roads of litter—will be
held countywide on May 5.
“We’ll have a truck at the former land fill site
all day to collect the garbage and take it to the landfill,” Crandall
said.
