Girls Basketball

February 12

Roscoe (RCS) 40, Chapel Field 37

RCS broke a 24-24 tie by outscoring host Chapel Field 10-4 in the third quarter of an OCIAA Division V win. Danielle Austin scored her nine points in the first half for RCS (11-5, 6-1 OCIAA). Lynne Wit hit four three-pointers and scored 19 points for Chapel Field (5-12, 3-5 OCIAA).

The Family School 53, Monticello 40

Kelly Gorham scored 17 points and Meredith Angevine scored 13 points as The Family School topped Monticello in a non-league game in Hancock. Deidre Smith scored 17 points and Brady Dollard had 11 for Monticello (7-9). The Family School is 6-11.

Sullivan West – Jeffersonville Youngsville (SW/JY) 51, Livingston Manor (LM) 27

Tiffany Hauser had 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead SW/JY to a non-league victory over LM. Shelisa Duquette had 11 points and Kristin Erlwein 10 for the SW/JY girls (16-1), who led 17-1 after one quarter and 30-11 at halftime. Bridget Ellison scored 12 for LM (10-6).

February 14

Tri-Valley (TV) 53, Fallsburg 32

Sophomore Heather Bachmann had 22 points and 16 rebounds, leading TV over host Fallsburg in an OCIAA Division IV game. Megan Sheeley added nine points and 12 rebounds for TV (9-8, 5-5 OCIAA), helping the 26-15 halftime lead. Tara Adams led Fallsburg (0-18, 0-11 OCIAA) with 14 points, and Shannon Horace scored eight.

Roscoe (RCS) 48, The Family School 45

Kelly Ahart scored 14 points and Jessica Lake added 13 as RCS edged The Family School in the OCIAADivision V game. RCS (12-5, 7-1 OCIAA) outscored The Family School 18-9 in the third quarter to erase an eight-point halftime deficit. Lake had seven points and Ahart scored six in the third quarter. Danielle Austin finished with seven points and 15 rebounds for the Blue Devils. Alexis Faulkner had 11 points for The Family School (6-12, 3-6 OCIAA).

February 15

Chapel Field 45, Sullivan West - Delaware Valley (SW/DV) 43

Chapel Field’s Stacy Kuperus hit a jump shot that broke a 43-43 tie with 10 seconds remaining in the second overtime of an OCIAA Division V game in Callicoon. Kuperus led all scorers with 18 points and Lynne Wit contributed 16 points for the Lions (6-12, 4-5 OCIAA). Calley Sander had 17 points for SW/DV (7-8, 4-4 OCIAA).

February 17

Eldred (ECS) 52, Roscoe (RCS) 44

Christine Lizzi scored 30 points and went 9-of-15 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter in leading host ECS to a non-league win over RCS. Stacie Blaut finished with nine points for ECS (16-2) and Loretta Wolff had six. Danielle Austin led RCS (12-6) with 12.

Boys Basketball

February 12

Roscoe (RCS) 63, Livingston Manor (LM) 56

Brian Bury had 19 points and 11 rebounds as host RCS topped LM in an OCIAA Division V game. Jeff Bury added 15 points and six assists for RCS (7-8, 3-3 OCIAA). Ryan Carlson scored 17 points and Jason Kean had 10 points for LM (2-12, 0-5 OCIAA).

Eldred (ECS) 55, Sussex, NJ Tech 52

Joe Scully’s 16 points paced ECS’s victory over visiting Sussex Tech in a non-league game. ECS led 27-21 at halftime and 44-36 after three quarters. The Yellow Jackets (5-10) maintained a slim lead through the final quarter. Wayne McKenly contributed 12 points on four 3-pointers for ECS.

S.S. Seward 70, Sullivan West - Delaware Valley (SW/DV) 52

Michael Hoyt scored 21 points and added 10 assists and 10 steals to lead S.S. Seward to a non-league win over SW/DV in Florida. Joe Oszmanski scored 14 points and Rich Gillespie posted seven points and 15 rebounds for Seward(12-3), which used an effective fast break to take a 38-20 halftime lead. Emanuel Toledo had 20 points, Bill Reichmann scored 11 and Jeff Peters added 10 for SW/DV (5-11).

February 13

S.S. Seward 71, Sullivan West - Jeffersonville Youngsville (SW/JY) 50

S.S. Seward outscored SW/JY 26-9 in the third quarter, cruising to an OCIAA Division IV win. Sophomore Michael Hoyt led the Spartans (13-3, 6-2 OCIAA) with 28 points, while J.J. Gass added 16 and Joe Oszmanski had 11.  Matt Parks led SW/JY (12-4, 7-2 OCIAA) with 14 points. Mike Ahnstrom contributed 11.

Chester 80, Eldred (ECS) 62

Dante Griggs scored 32 points, including 10 in the second quarter, to lead Chester past host ECS in an OCIAA Division IV game. Mike Acevedo added 15 points for Chester (13-3, 6-3 OCIAA), and Peter Jones scored 14. Joe Scully’s 20 points led ECS (5-11, 2-8 OCIAA).

Sullivan West - Narrowsburg (SW/NS) 71, Family School 42

Chad Powell scored a game-high 23 points as SW/NS blew out The Family School in an OCIAA Division V game at Narrowsburg. Bruce Nober added 21 points for SW/NS (11-3, 8-0 OCIAA). Ryan Callinan led The Family School with 12 points.

Tri-Valley (TV) 77, Roscoe (RCS) 53

Durk Pearston’s 21 points sparked TV’s victory over host RCS in a non-league game. Kyle Humphrey contributed 18 points and Josh Lowitz had 14 points for TV (9-7). Brian Ballard and Shawn Hendrickson each had 16 points for RCS (7-8), and Brian Bury scored 13.

February 15

Roscoe (RCS) 74, Sullivan West - Delaware Valley (SW/DV) 48

Brian Bury scored 13 points and had 15 rebounds as host RCS beat SW/DV in an OCIAA Division V game. Brian Ballard scored 21 points, Jeff Bury had 12 points and 10 assists and Keith Buck had 15 points for RCS (8-8, 4-3 OCIAA). Bill Reichmann’s 15 points led SW/DV (5-12, 2-4 OCIAA).

Livingston Manor (LM) 50, The Family School 47

Ryan Carlson scored 27 points as LM defeated The Family School in an OCIAA Division V game at Hancock. LM’s Jason Kean added 12 points (3-12, 1-5 OCIAA). Sean Hogan’s 17 points led The Family School (6-11, 3-5 OCIAA).

February 17

Sullivan West - Delaware Valley (SW/DV) 62, Livingston Manor (LM) 48

Bill Reichmann scored 22 points to lead SW/DV over LM in an OCIAA Division V game in Callicoon. Bob Wayne added 12 points for SW/DV (6-10, 2-4 OCIAA) and E.T. Toledo had 11. Ryan Carlson notched a game-high 23 points for LM (2-13, 0-6 OCIAA).

Sullivan West - Narrowsburg (SW/NS) 70, Eldred (ECS) 46

Host SW/NS opened the game with a 27-4 run, sending ECS to a non-league loss. Bruce Nober had 26 points and (12-3) and Chad Powell added 21. For ECS, Ryan Jasper led (5-12) with 19 points.
