Seedlings from Saratoga Springs

LIBERTY — The Department of Environmental Conservation operates the State Tree Nursery in Saratoga Springs to produce tree and shrub seedlings for conservation plantings on private and public lands. Any New York State landowner is eligible to purchase the seedlings. Plants may not be used for ornamental landscape purposes.

Orders for seedlings may be placed from January through mid-March by calling 518/587-1120, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. An order will be completed over the phone and sent to you in the mail for your approval and signature.

Customers must return the signed order form in 10 days with payment by check or money order to complete the purchase, unless other arrangements have been made.

How to market your farm

MIDDLETOWN -- The Cooperative Extension of Orange, Ulster, Sullivan and Dutchess Counties will present the third in the series of workshops designed for individuals considering a new farm business or those considering expansion or diversification.

“Elements of Effective Business Marketing” will be held on Tuesday, March 6 from 6:45 to 9:00 p.m. at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orange County. Cost of the program is $20 and pre-registration is required.
