Lander requests cell tower extension

By TOM KANE

NARROWSBURG — Rick Lander, of Lander’s River Trips, appeared before the Town of Tusten Planning Board last Monday evening requesting the extension of the height of his present cell tower.

The cell tower is located on a hill south of Narrowsburg near Lang Industries.

“I’ve asked for a 200-foot tower,” Lander said. His current tower is 60 feet. “I’ll need to submit to a site plan review to make the change,” he said.

Cell towers are permitted in R-1 zones, where his tower is located.

A public hearing will be held on the matter at 7:45 p.m. on February 19 in the town hall.

Lander’s current tower, erected in 1991, is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission and has a permit from the town, he said.
