ELDRED - The
Upper Delaware Heritage Alliance (UDHA) held its 19th Annual Meeting
and Heritage Awards Dinner on Sunday, October 1 at the Eldred Preserve.
Among the recipients were, from left to right: Ron Schalk, accepting
the NYS and National Historic Register recognition certificate for
the Narrowsburg United Methodist Church; Wayne Stephens, for saving
the 1911 Firehouse in White Mills; Debbie Fallon, Linda Vassmer
and Vicky Vassmer Simpson, co-founders of the Bethel Woodstock Museum
in Kauneonga Lake; Gloria McCullough, research librarian at Wayne
County Historical Society; Annetta DeYoung, accepting on behalf
of Ken Sproson for his coal car replica at the Chamber's Visitor
Center in Honesdale; Sullivan County, Historian John Conway for
a booklet publication; Merit Award winner Wellington Lester of Hancock
and the Equinunk Historical Society; NYS Preservation Award winners
Donald and Edith Downs, for rehabilitating an ice house in Long
Eddy; Ralph Huebner, accepting the NYS and National Historic Register
recognition certificate for the Tusten Settlement Association; City
of Port Jervis Mayor R. Michael Worden, recipient of the UDHA Tom
Hill Award for Excellence in Public Service; and PA Preservation
Award winners Gardie and Kurt Mueller, for restoration of the Sandercock
House in Equinunk.
