KIAMESHA - State and local politician and members of the Louis R. Cappelli Group are seen Tuesday pushing the plunger to signal the beginning of a $500-million redevelopment for the Concord Resort and Convention Center. Flares and rockets went off and the Liberty High School Band played as a demolition claw began ripping apart the central building of the old resort to make way for the new Concord. The old building will be completely gutted and done over. The projected finish date is July 4, 2002.
