| Subdividing
Bethel
By CHRIS CONROY
BETHEL - If
all goes as planned, there will soon be more waterfront property
on the market in the Town of Bethel.
Appearing before
the Town of Bethel Planning Board on October 10, Steven Dubrovsky
of Woodstone Development presented a plan to subdivide a parcel
of land he purchased on the shore of the Toronto reservoir, just
off of Moscoe Road. The proposed subdivision would create 19 parcels,
all about five acres in size and all with water frontage.
Dubrovsky has
already cut a road into the proposed subdivision and has also contracted,
at a reported cost of around $50,000, for electric service to be
run to the proposed lots. As of now, Dubrovsky says he has only
a couple of clients definitely interested in building on any of
the proposed lots.
Before final
approval is gained, the road must be inspected by an independent
engineer to ensure that it meets town requirements for private roads.
Soil quality must also be tested to ensure septic systems put in
place for any homes built are environmentally sound.
Best known
for his high quality, high priced, custom built homes, Dubrovsky
will appear again before the board on November 14 for a public hearing
on the subdivision.
