- Anna Bociarsi Acker of Honesdale, a homemaker, died Wednesday,
September 20, 2000 at Wayne memorial Hospital in Honesdale. She
was 72.
Daughter
of the late Witold and Helen Koreiwa Bociarski, she was born July
19, 1928 at the family homestead at Cold Springs, PA.
She
was a member of St. John the Evangelist parish in Honesdale.
Survivors
include her husband, Harold Acker; two daughters, Helen Martin of
Beach Lake and Mary Mandeville of Indian Orchard; three sons, Joseph
of Cherry Ridge, Chuck and wife Kathy of Prompton and Peter and
wife Annette of Honesdale; seven sisters, Mary Eggleton of Middletown,
NY, Helen Mosher of Virginia, Ida Burkavage, Jennie Tuleya, Vicki
Bidwell, Pauline Naring and Sophie McConnell, all of Honesdale;
ten grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
Services
were held at the Hessling Funeral Home in Honesdale. The Rev. Andrew
Sinnott of St. John the Evangelist Parish officiated. Cremation
took place at Salem Crematory in Archbald. Burial was in St. John's
Cemetery in Honesdale.

W. BALL
MONTICELLO
- Joseph W. Ball of Monticello, a retired private investigator and
former owner of Sophisticated Investigators in Spring Valley, an
eight-year area resident, died Monday, September 11, 2000 at the
Horton Medical Center in Middletown. He was 70.
Son
of the late Joseph C. and Ruth "Rose" McNamara Ball, he was born
December 23, 1929 in Yonkers.
He
was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors
include his wife, Jean Wright Ball at home; six children; a sister,
Rose Mary Reichenbach of Coxsackie; a brother, Donald of Arizona;
13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew.
A
memorial service was held at the Ellenville Assembly of God Church
in Ellenville. Cremation was private.

C. "MICKEY" BEHLING
NARROWSBURG
- Myrtle C. "Mickey" Behling, a homemaker and a retired secretary
for Standard Oil in New York, NY, a 26-year area resident, died
Wednesday September 20, 2000 at Grover Hermann Hospital, in Callicoon.
She was 82.
Daughter
of Julius and Christine Tietjen Henning, she was born December 4,
1917 in Brooklyn, NY. She was the widow of George (Chris) Behling
who died in April.
She
was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Narrowsburg; the Cricket
Hill Golf Club in Hawley, the Tusten Senior Citizens and the Tusten
Volunteer Ambulance Corps, both of Narrowsburg.
Survivors
include three daughters, Barbara Goffin of Woodstock, NY, Nancy
Dillon and husband Bob of Minneapolis, MN and Jill Padua of Narrowsburg;
a sister, Christine Behrens of Bergenfield, NJ; four grandchildren,
Jesse Goffin, Matthew and Caroline Dillon and Evan Padua; and nieces
and nephews.
Services
were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Narrowsburg. The Rev.
Phyllis Haynes officiated. Cremation took place at Twin Tiers Crematory
in Endicott, NY.

MONTICELLO
- Joseph Braunstein of Monticello, a retired vice president of the
shoe division of Bond's Clothing Store in New York City, and a 30-year
area resident, died Friday, September 22, 2000 at Community General
Hospital in Harris. He was 90.
Son
of Harry Braunstein, he was born January 8, 1910 in St. Paul, Minn.
He was the widower of Theresa Mullucci Braunstein.
He
was a member of Temple Sholom in Monticello; was a former employee
of the Monticello State Police Department; and also worked for 20
years as a guard at Monticello Raceway.
Survivors
include a daughter, Harriet Vandermark of Monticello; two grandchildren;
two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold of Florida.
He
was predeceased by two brothers, Muray and Marty.
Services
were held at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, Inc. in Monticello.
Rabbi Irwin Tanenbaum officiated. Burial was in Temple Sholom Cemetery
in Monticello.

FIMOGNARI, SR.
KAUNEONGA
LAKE - Albert Fimognari, Sr. a 30-year resident of the Town of Bethel,
a retired contractor and real estate broker, died Wednesday, September
20, 2000 at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. He was 80.
Son
of the late Michael and Sarah Misisco Fimognari, he was born September
1, 1920 in Springfield, MA.
He
was currently the Town Justice for the Town of Bethel; was involved
with the development of the Bethel Medical Center where he was a
member of the board of directors; was a past president and secretary
of the Red Cross; a past officer of the Bethel Lions Club; and a
former member of the Kauneonga Lake Fire Department. He was a U.S.
Army veteran of World War II; was a member of the Sgt. Andrew Brucher
Post #5499, Veterans of Foreign Wars in White Lake; and was a member
of the New York State Magistrates Association.
Survivors
include a daughter, Terese of Liberty; two sons, Albert W., Jr.
of Smallwood and Robert of Limerick, PA; three sisters, Phyllis
Algosino of Flushing, Eleanor of Manhattan and Marie Voss of Lake
Ronkonkoma; a brother, Joseph of Flushing; 11 grandchildren; nieces
and nephews.
He
was predeceased by a sister, Rose McGrisken and two brothers, Richard
and Michael.
A
Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Peter's R.C. Church
in Liberty. The Rev. Robert Geissler officiated. Cremation was in
Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.

10, 1957 in Montclair, NJ.

- Adeline Lubitz Haesche of Hawley, a former retail clothing salesperson,

home. She was 84.

was born in Germany. She was the widow of Robert Haesche.
She
was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

- Bernice I. Killam, a former cafeteria worker at Katz Underwear
Factory and longtime area resident, died at the Ellen Memorial Health
Care Center in Honesdale on September 25, 2000. She was 84.
Daughter
of Peter C. and Clara Ryan Rose, Killam was a member of the First
Baptist Church of Honesdale. Survivors include her husband, Robert
of Honesdale; sons Robert M. and Philip W. of Honesdale; grandchildren
Michael and Andrea Killam. She is predeceased by brothers Earl Rose
and Lionel "Pete" Rose, and by a sister, Betty Pasquarello.
A
memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Honesdale
on September 30, 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Mark Heiner officiating.

CENTER - Mary E. Larkin of Cochecton Center, a legal secretary for
Levine, Glass & Miller in Monticello, and a 23-year area resident,
died Monday, September 18, 2000 at home. She was 62.
Daughter
of the late Lawrence and Martha Gessler Towers, she was born December
11, 1937 in Manhattan.

include five children, Lynne Weber of Hawley, PA, Andrew Larkin
of Oceanside, Allison of Marathon, Susan DeVito of Swan Lake and
Michael of Patchogue; 10 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

graveside service and burial was held in Glen Cove Cemetery in Narrowsburg.
Deacon John Riley officiated. Cremation took place at the Twin Tiers
Crematory in Endicott.

- Edward Joseph Reynolds of Shohola, a retired stationary engineer
for the U.S. Postal Service died Wednesday, September 20, 2000 in
Mercy Hospital in Port Jervis, NY. He was 65.
Son
of the late Myles and Agnes Conklin Reynolds, he was born October
14, 1934 in the Bronx.
He
was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church
in Middletown.
Survivors
include his wife, Maryanne Tuttle Reynolds, at home; two sons, Michael
E. of Shohola and Robert of Beacon; a daughter, Patricia W. Wood
and husband Matthew of Montgomery; and two sisters, Catherine Walsh
of Highland Mills and Betty Verdon of Glen Rock, NJ.

- Bertha H. Paulin Schultz of Hawley, a 21-year resident of Huggy
Bear Lake in Hawley, a former secretary for Mobil Oil in New York
City, died Thursday, September 7, 2000 at Wayne Memorial Hospital
in Honesdale. She was 83.
Daughter
of the late Frank Paulin and the late Teresa Butkus Paulin, she
was born in New York, NY. She was the widow of Kenneth M. Schultz.
She
was a member of Queen of Peace R.C. Church and a member of Central
Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors
include a sister, Joanne Byme of Middle Village, NY; a brother-in-law,
John Scott of Glendale, NY; five nieces, one nephew; four grandnieces,
eight grandnephews; four great grandnieces and a great great grandniece
and a great-great-grand nephew.

- Sara Swanson of Honesdale, an LPN employed at Wayne Woodlands
Manor in Waymart, died Wednesday, September 20, 2000 at Wayne Memorial
Hospital in Honesdale after being stricken at work at Wayne Woodlands
Manor in Waymart. She was 52.
Daughter
of the late William E. and Gladys DeVillers, she was born January
7, 1947 in Missouri.
She
graduated from a private school in Long Island, New York and received
her LPN degree from Allied Technical of Scranton. She was a member
of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors
include a son, Stanley Gold of California; three daughters, Tanya
Creedon of Taylor, Gayle Wehr of Honesdale and Shallon Schroeder
of Scranton; a brother, William E. Little, Jr. of New York City;
a best friend, Barbara Franklin; five grandchildren; a niece and
a nephew.

were held at the Hessling Funeral Home in Honesdale. The Rev. Paul
McCauley of the Central United Methodist Church in Honesdale officiated.
Cremation took place at the Maple Hill at Salem Crematory in Archbald.

hospital administrator, Health Care, Montefiore Hospital in the
Bronx, NY, died unexpectedly on Monday, September 18 at St. Andrews
Hospital in Boothbay Harbor, ME. She was 77.

of the late Nicholas Peano and Marie Boyce Peano, she was born in
New York, NY.
She
was a member of Queen of Peace R.C. Church in Hawley.

and wife Maura White of Stoney Point, NY; and two nieces.

- Charlene G. Williams of Honesdale, formerly of Quakertown, died
Friday September 22, 2000 at the Marian Community Hospital in Carbondale.
She was 60.
Daughter
of Grace W. Huling Kull of Schnecksville and the late Charles H.
Kull, she was born November 2, 1939 in Allentown.
She
was a member of the Calway Bible Fellowship Church in Coopersburg
and was a volunteer at the Quakertown Community Hospital.
Survivors
include her husband, Gerald L. Williams; her mother; three daughters,
Diane Lightstone and husband John of Frackville, Cynthia Trively
and husband Gary of Northampton and Laura Williams of Las Vegas,
NE; two brothers, Charles Kull, Jr. of Mount Bethel and Marlin Kull
of Hughesville; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
