Students pay a visit to the doctor

By KRISTA GROMALSKI

PIKE COUNTY - When classes began for the Delaware Valley School District on August 28, 48 students had not met immunization or physical examination requirements for the upcoming school year, according to School Nurse Ellen Orbin. In a late-August meeting, the school board identified 375 students not complying with the requirements.

Students failing to comply "will be denied access to an education," said Board Supervisor Candis Finan.

Orbin said the 48 students were informed of the consequences on Monday and most planned to visit their doctors before the end of Tuesday.

During the school year, new Delaware Valley student registration is open each school day from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Office of Support Services at the entrance to the Middle School Cafeteria. For more information or a list of required forms and documents call 570/296-1883.
