Sullivan West architect confers with teachers

By TOM KANE

JEFERSONVILLE - Mark Liffi, the Hillier Group's project manager for the new Sullivan West High School construction, spent two days with each department of the high school to review the interior of the building.

"We wanted to be sure the room layouts were satisfactory and that we were including the kind of equipment and furnishings teachers wanted," Liffi said.

The board was more interested in the exterior look of the building, he said.

"They wanted more than the two-dimensional drawings that we showed them," he said. "Next month, we'll come back with 3-D drawings that will show elevations in the proper perspective."

"Mr. Liffi will be attending our board meetings every month," said Michael Johndrow, district superintendent. "We want to get this project to the state as soon as possible because the state can take months to approve. There are numerous schools with building projects for approval."

The next board meeting Liffi will attend is at 7:30 p.m. on September 21.
