Crash on Route 652

BERLIN TOWNSHIP - "You don't dodge many things when you're driving a truck," said Pennsylvania State Police Officer Stephen J. Limani of a two-vehicle accident on Route 652 in Berlin Township, Wayne County last Friday.

Chris Brinster, 28, of Shohola, was driving a Waste Management truck that collided into the back of a Chevrolet Lumina operated by Jeffrey Anderson, 21, of Beach Lake. Anderson, who was carrying two passengers, slowed to make a right-hand turn into a driveway. Brinster apparently swerved to avoid the Lumina and collided into the rear of the vehicle, pushing it approximately 90 feet, according to Limani. Both vehicles were traveling East on Route 652.

Brinster, Anderson and passenger Andrea Avery, 17, of Beach Lake escaped without injury while Francis Quinn, 18, also of Beach Lake, incurred minor injuries. Avery was the only individual in either vehicle wearing a seatbelt, according to a report released by Limani.

Beach Lake Fire and Rescue responded to the accident, transporting all passengers to Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Following the accident both vehicles were removed from the scene by Northeast Towing. Limani's report indicated Anderson's vehicle was totaled.
