PHARMACIST TO FACE CHARGES

HONESDALE - Wayne County drug store owner, Thomas Glinsky will face the charge of supplying 2,400 pills to Jamie Romich.

While several charges against Glinsky were dismissed others have been bound over to trial for the Honesdale pharmacist who allegedy dispensed the painkiller Darvocet without a prescription. Romich later committed suicide.

Glinsky is also charged with three counts of failing to keep proper records.

MOLLY AUMICK, GILMAN AIDE,
FORMER LIVERY OWNER DIES

WASHINGTON DC - Rep. Benjamin A. Gilman (20th District-NY) and Mrs. Georgia Gilman have expressed deep sorrow on the June 15 death of former Deerpark businesswoman and long-time Gilman aide Molly Aumick.

In addition to being a senior member of the Congressional staff, Aumick's public service included membership on the Port Jervis Board of Education, and the Republican Committee in the Town of Deerpark.

Being a former owner of White Water Canoes, with her late husband Bill, Aumick also advised Gilman during the Upper Delaware planning process in the 1980's. "She was community activist, and as a cherished friend, Molly touched many of our lives," Gilman said.

DELAWARE VALLEY ADOPTS ZERO TAX INCREASE BUDGET

WESTFALL - The trustees of the Delaware Valley School District adopted a new $39 million, 2000-01 budget on June 19.

For the first time in 18 years the new budget reportedly will retain existing millage rates (now 80.12 mills) and requires no increase in local property taxes.

Despite the zero increase the district plans to add as many as ten new teaching positions and five instructional assistants.

'GHOSTS' AFTER 3 YEAR-OLD,
MOTHER CHARGED

SOUTH FALLSBURG - A three year-old boy found wandering alone at the Main Street Houses at 2:15 a.m. on Sunday morning, told Fallsburg police that he was afraid that ghosts were chasing him.

Returning the boy to his home, police found the apartment door open and a one year-old sibling sleeping on the floor. No adult was present and the mother reportedly had left the two toddlers alone since 11:00 p.m., on Saturday night.

The children were placed in the custody of Sullivan County Child Protective Services and the mother, Shawnte Webb, 20, was arrested and charged with felony child abandonment and misdemeanor endanger the welfare of a child, when she returned at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.
