MONTICELLO -- State Senator John Bonacic (R-40) is pictured shaking hands with Fremont Supervisor James Greier, who joined many other local officials at the Sullivan County Government Center on March 9 as the Mount Hope attorney announced his intention to seek a second term.

Bonacic has no Democratic opponent as yet. Several prominent Sullivan Democrats who tested the water two years ago, when Charles Cook retired, say they are no longer interested.

Sullivan Legislative chair Rusty Pomeroy was interested last time. This time around he figures it would be hard to beat Bonacic. He added, "and he’s done good job."
