Cabin Fever at the track

Amanda Reed holds a 1/10th Slash truck, which she painted, and for which she won the award she is holding. Reed, who is also the production manager at The River Reporter, raced another vehicle on the track, but it was knocked out of commission when it was hit by another truck before the race ended.

BEACH LAKE, PA — There’s nothing like a weekend of racing to chase away the winter blues. Some 27 races were held on the weekend of February 23 and 24, at the Cabin Fever Race at Marshall’s Raceway in Beach Lake. The races involve remote-controlled vehicles that compete on a track, and come in various sizes from 1/16th size of the real life vehicle to 1/8th of the real life vehicle. There were a total of 93 vehicles entered into the competition.
