‘Journeys’ of the heart

Gallagher will be looking for antique autos from the period of 1897 to 1949 for the film. She and the team with which she is working are also seeking funding of 2.5 million to complete the project. The community is invited to contribute or to participate in other ways. “I want the town to know that we can’t do it without them,” she said.

Gallagher is serving as screenwriter, executive producer and director of the film. She is a seasoned writer and author, producer, musician, business executive, ASCAP composer, lyricist, and SAG/AFTRA actor, is a 2009 Screenwriting Fellow of the American Film Institute and the winner of a 2008 Filmanthrophy Short Film Scholarship and 2009 Sloan Scholarship Award.

Gallagher is president of the film and television production company Moonlight Man Productions, Inc. She also produced the weekly syndicated print column “The Inner Bottom Line” and authored the book “The Nude Ethicist: A Simple Path to The Good Life” in 2004. Now based in Santa Monica, CA, Gallagher can be reached at production@moonlightman.com or 323/836.5604.

One of the film’s local team members is Troy Bystrom, chairman of the Pocono Film Commission based in Pike County. “The Pocono Film Commission is assisting the production in finding locations and local services for the shoot in the fall of 2012,” said Bystrom. “The 2.5 million dollar film will provide local economic development and crew jobs on the production as well as promoting the area in a positive light.” Local realtor Davis R. Chant will also assist in funding efforts related to the film. For information contact Bystrom at 646/236-3400 or troy@poconofilm.org.

“This film is my heartbeat,” said Gallagher. “It’s a great honor to do this in memory of my father. We want this to be a satisfying and joyful experience for everyone involved.”
