Carol W. Curry of Grahamsville, NY passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Newton Hospital. She was 71.

A funeral service was on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. Rev. Bob Kersten officiated. Interment followed at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery.

John J. Dorney

John J. Dorney, a longtime resident of Shohola, PA, passed away at the age of 77, on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at home, in the arms of his loving wife.

A mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 12 noon at St. Ann’s Church, Shohola. Father Thomas Major and Father Paul Mullen officiated. Cremation followed at MacLennan Hall Crematory, Milford, PA. Burial of John’s cremains will be buried in St. Ann’s Cemetery at a later date.

Stella May Higby, of Howells, NY, passed away Wednesday, December 12, peacefully, at her residence. She was 91.

Funeral services were on Saturday, December 15, at Morse Funeral Home, Inc. Burial followed in Howells Cemetery, Howells, NY.

Phyllis Donaldson Johnston

Phyllis Donaldson Johnston of Damascus, PA and formerly of Bronx, NY, died on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was 86.

Cremation was held at Maple Hill at Salem Crematory. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 21 at St. Joseph’s Church in Rileyville at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Galilee.

Peter A. Karadontes of Jeffersonville, NY passed away unexpectedly in Miami, Florida on Friday, November 23, 2012. He was 78.

Funeral services were on Wednesday, December 19 at 11 a.m. at Ramsay’s Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St., Liberty, NY. Fr. Chris Talleos officiated. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Ceceilia M. McKee

Ceceilia M. McKee of Lackawaxen, PA, a longtime resident of the area, passed away peacefully Friday, December 14, 2012 at home with her family by her side. She was 74.

A mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday, December 19 at St. Ann’s Church, Shohola, PA. Christian burial will take place in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Shohola.

Donations may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 130 Wilkes Barre Township Blvd, Wilkes Barre, PA 18702. Special thanks to the women who assisted Ceceilia and her family during this time.

Helen Wolyniec

Helen Wolyniec of Cochecton, NY, a former kitchen worker at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Yonkers, NY, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 84.

Services were held Friday, December 14, at St. Georges Church, Jeffersonville, NY. Father Ignatius Vu officiated. Burial was in St. Josephs Cemetery, Yonkers.
