Posted

Sunday, July 10, the manager of Kinnebrook Estates in Monticello noticed that an American Flag posted in front of the office was on the ground in the parking lot when he arrived at work.

Mott’s Apple Sauce in its packaging was additionally noticed on the ground in the parking lot.

The manager soon found the back door of the building to be wide open.

When in the building, he saw a Hispanic male passed out on the floor with a can of Slim Fast in the kitchen area of the Main Office.

After calling 911, deputies from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office responded and took Luis Tapia, 21, into custody.

Tapia, resides in Brooklyn, appeared to be intoxicated. He was charged with the Felony of Burglary in the Third Degree and Petit Larceny.

It is suspected that Tapia stole $45.00 in cash.

He was arraigned before Judge Rasnick, in the Town of Fallsburg and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail. He is to appear in the Town of Thompson Court at a later undeclared date.
