Margaret J. Dexter Branning of Beach Lake, PA, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012 at Ellen Memorial Health Care, Honesdale, PA. She was 84.

The daughter of the late Edward H. And Bessie Diehl Dexter, she was born September 1, 1927 in Atco, PA. Margaret graduated from Atco School, Damascus High School and Hayne Commercial School. She had worked for Charles and Catherine Dexter as a secretary, Charles Electrical, Plumbing and Heating Business and Hardware Store.

She was married for 61 years to Ray T. Branning, who had passed away on August 3, 2010.

She lived her whole married life on the Branning Family Farm.

A family statement reads: “Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and neighbor. She loved birds, flowers and nature. She was a real outdoors person. She was an avid hunter and fisherman. She was a deadly shot. She loved to crochet and was very talented. She always had a pot of coffee on for anyone that stopped by. We will miss those visits as she was a big part of our family, she will truly be missed.”

Survivors include her five children: Roger Branning, Rodney Branning and his wife Glenna, Keith Branning and his wife Becky, Pearl E. Imburgio and her husband John, Mark Branning and his wife Diana. Grandchildren : Rodney Branning Jr. and his wife Nicole, Phillip Branning and his wife Colleen, Brett Branning and his wife Shari, Samantha Branning, Bryan Branning and his wife Caitlin, Eric Branning, Mark Branning, Robert Imburgio, Mandy Imburgio. Three great grandchildren of Phillip and Colleen: Luke Branning, Paige Branning and Jacob Branning. Many cousins and her little dog that she loved: “Princess.”

Margaret is predeceased by her husband Ray, two sons: Ray and Phillip, a grandson Travis and daughter in law Rose Branning.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 90 Main St. Narrowsburg, NY 12764.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2012, 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Rev. Lane Jones will officiate.

Burial will be in the Glen Cove Cemetery, Narrowsburg, NY.

Donations can be made in Margaret’s name to the Honesdale Vol. Ambulance Corp., the Tusten Vol. Ambulance Corp., or the Welcome Lake Fire Dept.
