Leonard Stephenson, a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, NY, passed away peacefully March 20, 2012.

The son of the late Bill and Victoria Stephenson, he was born in Bethel, NY on June 26, 1922.

Survivors include his son Robert Stephenson; daughter Connie Stagl; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his wife, Cora Slater; and siblings Peg Kent, Florence Jones, Vi Harden, Osmer, Al and Ralph Stephenson.

Len was one of a generation of soon-to-be-extinct strong-willed Sullivan County characters that loved his wife, valued his land and the companionship of his dog. He enjoyed the horse races on Sunday afternoon and told long dry country jokes better than anyone.
