Richard D. Fitch of Cochecton, NY passed away on Friday, February 3, 2012. He was 83.
The son of the late Irving H. Fitch and Marguerite E. Huggler Long, he was born on July 12, 1928 in Rochester, NY.
Richard was a member of the United States Air Force. Prior to retirement, he was the owner of Richard’s Inn in Jeffersonville, NY. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Callicoon and of the Stony Brook Hunting Club.
Richard was happiest hunting and playing cards with camp buddies. Richard’s other passion was collecting antique cars.
Survivors include his wife Jewell Fitch, at home; one son, R. David Fitch and wife Robin of West Winfield, NY; daughters Susan Bodenstein and husband David of Jeffersonville, NY and Joy Finn and husband James of Kenoza Lake, NY; grandchildren Todd, Justin, and Kaitlyn Fitch, Jason and Michael Ahnstrom and Jimmy and Erin Finn; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on February 7 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville with Reverend William Chellis officiating. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery, Jeffersonville.
