William C. Krug, Jr. of Milanville, PA and Lake Muskoday, NY, a retired construction engineer for the County of Sullivan and a long time area resident, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at his home. He was 86.

The son of the late William C. Krug, Sr. and Agnes Lawston Krug, he was born December 30, 1925 in Bronx, NY.

William served during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He was a communicant and served as an usher at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Obernberg, NY where he had been a member and past president of the Holy Name Society. He is a former Town of Fremont Constable; a former Lt. Commander of St. Francis DeChantel Sea Cadets & Wavettes; a former Coast Guard inspector in Nyack, NY; a member and past president of the Lake Muskoday Home Owners Association; a former member of the Sullivan Shields; and a former instructor for boat and rifle safety courses. He enjoyed boating with the Nyack Boat Club.

Survivors include his wife Grace “Gay” Krug, at home; daughters Susan M. O’Connell and husband Mike of Atlanta, GA and Lori C. Stephenson and husband Charles of Atlanta, GA; sons William C. Krug III and wife Wendy and Michael J. Krug and wife Susan, all of Milanville; 16 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, January 21 in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church Obernburg, with Father Joseph Juracek, OFM officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Obernberg, NY.
