Suspect arrested in Monticello bungalo colony murder

The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest connected to a murder at the Pardess Bungalow Colony, 236 Old Liberty Rd., Monticello, NY. Deputies have arrested Rickey Bolden, Jr., born 6/7/80, and living at 28 Bedford Ave. in Monticello.

Bolden has been charged with murder in the second degree.

He was arraigned at Town of Thompson Court on September 26 by Judge Martin Miller and remanded to Sullivan County Jail, no bail.

The victim was the caretaker of the colony, John Ferrari, Jr. 61, of Rivervale, NJ. He had been struck with an object, possibly a shovel. His body was found on September 22.

Due to the ongoing investigation, no further information is being released at this time.

The Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by State Police BCI, Forensic Identification Bureau and District Attorney’s Office.
