$40,000 worth of heroin seized; two arrested in White Lake

CNET Major David M. Krause announced the arrests of Randolph Dauch, 61, and Rhandye Dauch, 61, both of White Lake, for two counts each of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, class B felonies.

State Police said that a search warrant executed jointly by members of the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team and Troop F SP Liberty as well as the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the recovery of a large amount of heroin at the Dauch residence located at 1931 State Route 17B in the Town of Bethel on September 14, 2016.

Execution of the search warrant followed a police investigation into the distribution of heroin from that residence and more than 4,000 individually packaged bags of heroin were recovered, as well as over $4,000 and other drug paraphernalia.

CNET estimates the street value of the heroin seized to be worth about $40,000.

Both Randolph and Rhandye Dauch were arraigned by Hon. Kevin Rhyne, of the Town of Bethel Justice Court and remanded to the custody of the Sheriff in lieu of $150,000 bail.

“Because heroin continues to pose a significant threat to the health, safety and well-being of our community, we will continue to investigate, apprehend and prosecute those responsible for distributing this dangerous drug throughout Sullivan County,” Sullivan County District Attorney Jim Farrell said.

The State Police were assisted by the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office, the Bethel Constables and Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office in this heroin distribution investigation, which is ongoing.
