On Thursday November 26, 2015 at about 8:30PM, the Sullivan County Sheriff's Patrol responded to a 911 report of shots fired at a residence located at 2803 State Route 55 in White Lake.

The occupant of the residence advised deputies that a subject driving a pickup truck had pulled into the driveway and fired several shots from a rifle. No one was injured in the incident and the suspect fled the scene.

A short time later Sheriff's deputies found the suspect vehicle at a hunting camp located at 287 County Route 115 in the southwest corner of the Town of Bethel. Units from the Sheriff's Office, State Police and Town of Bethel

Constables responded and cordoned off the area. The Sheriff's Emergency Services Unit was called to the scene and attempted to make contact with the suspect who was holed up in a trailer at the location. At about 9:50 PM

The suspect exited the trailer, got into the pickup truck and attempted to flee southbound on County Route 115 towards Narrowsburg. Police units had established a roadblock nearby preventing his escape.

When the suspect tried to back up, he was blocked in by the Sheriff's Bearcat armored vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody and identified as Ryan C. Diventi, age 30, of White Lake. He was unarmed at the time of arrest. Deputies searched Diventi's trailer and recovered several rifles, a sawed off shotgun and numerous rounds of ammunition.

Deputies received information that Diventi had recently made threats over the past few weeks to shoot police officers or EMS personnel. Diventi was charged with Felony Reckless Endangerment, Felony Possession of a Weapon, DWI and driving with a suspended license.

He was also charged with discharging a firearm within 500 feet of an occupied building. The suspect is awaiting arraignment at the Sheriff's Patrol Office at this time.
