Liberty man arrested following heroin investigation

On Tuesday September 15th, 2015 the Village of Liberty Police Department in conjunction with the FBI Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force arrested Rendell Griffin, 26 of Liberty after an investigation into heroin sales within the Village of Liberty.

As part of the investigation officers seized approximately 45 grams of heroin. Additionally officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Wheeler Lane in the Village of Liberty and seized packaging material, scales and cash. Griffin was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree with intent to sell and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree for having more than one half ounce of a narcotic drug, both felonies and two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the 2nd degree, misdemeanors.

Griffin was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. The investigation was conducted in conjunction with the FBI, New York State Police, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and Village of Monticello Police Department.
