Pike County District Attorney Raymond Tonkin announced the arrest of a Lackawaxen woman for cocaine sales. Investigators from the Pike County DA’s Office charged Carolina Ferrante, age 36, of Lackawaxen, with two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, cocaine, and two counts of Criminal Use of a Communication Facility for using a cellular phone in a drug

deal, all felonies.

According to the affidavit in support of the charges, Ferrante met with a confidential informant on two occasions and sold a substance believed to be cocaine. The affidavit states the first purchase of cocaine took place in February in Greeley. On April 7, 2014, investigators arranged a second purchase. Once that purchase was complete, Ferrante was taken into custody.

Investigators later served a search warrant on the vehicle that Ferrante was driving. In the vehicle investigators located 130 bags of suspected heroin and $320.00 in cash. Additional charges are anticipated based on the discovery of the heroin.

District Attorney Tonkin said “This investigation shows that drug dealers will sell multiple types of drugs in their attempt to make money. My office will continue our hard push to investigate and arrest drug pushers.” Tonkin thanked the Pennsylvania State Police for their assistance with the investigation.

Ferrante was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Deborah Fischer and committed to the Pike County Jail in lieu of $50,000.00 bail. Ferrante is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Justice Shannon L. Muir on April 21st.
