Livingston Manor man arrested for heroin

On November 4th, 2014 State Police at Liberty responded to a report of a domestic involving a gun at a residence in Livingston Manor. The investigation determined that Jose Ocasio, age 31 of Livingston Manor had threatened another occupant of the home with a loaded shotgun. While investigating the domestic incident, Troopers made observations that appeared to show that drugs were being sold from the home. A search warrant was obtained and narcotics including approximately 7 grams of unpackaged heroin were located. Also recovered were items commonly used in the drug trade including electronic scales and baggies. Four long guns were confiscated.

Ocasio was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, felonies. He was additionally charged with the misdemeanors of Menacing 2nd Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned in the Town of Rockland Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail with no bail set.
