On September 25, 2014, State Police in Middletown arrested Lysa M. Mercado-Gonzalez, age 43, of Middletown, NY, for Grand Larceny in the third degree, five counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument in the second degree, and Falsifying Business Records in the first degree.
Mercado-Gonzalez surrendered to the State Police after an investigation determined that she was responsible for stealing money from the Circleville Middle School Parent Teacher’s Association. Mercado-Gonzalez is accused of stealing five thousand one hundred thirty nine dollars and fifty five cents ($5,139.55) over a two-year period while she was the Treasurer for the PTA.
Mercado-Gonzalez was arraigned in the Town of Wallkill Court and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $5,139.55 cash bail or $20,000 secured bond
