On Tuesday July 29th, 2014 the Village of Liberty Police Department arrested two men in an ongoing investigation into heroin sales in the Village. Police arrested Edward Bodtmann 65, of Liberty and Andre Shackleford, 42 of Brooklyn after both men were found in possession of heroin.
Bodtmann was charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell in the 3rd degree a felony and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor after he was found in possession of 11 glassine envelopes containing heroin that he intended to sell to another individual.
Shackleford was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell in the 3rd degree, one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, all felonies, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and loitering in the 1st degree, misdemeanors. Shackleford was found in possession of 105 glassine envelopes of heroin and 5.6 grams of cocaine packaged for sale.
Also seized during the investigation was approximately $2,400. Both men were arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and are due to return on Thursday July 31st.
