New York State Troopers in Middletown arrested a Newburgh, NY woman on Tuesday for driving the wrong way on I-84 in the Town of Wallkill.
Troopers received a 911 call at 10:45pm, describing a 2013 Gray Ford Focus traveling east in the westbound lanes. The caller was able to follow the vehicle as it exited onto St Rt 17 and ultimately St Rt 211, where it continued to operate in an unsafe manner.
Officers from the City of Middletown PD were alerted and stopped the driver on Wisner Ave. The operator, Susan L. Yannone, age 52 from Newburgh, NY was taken into custody by Troopers and charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd, a class A misdemeanor. The reason for her errant driving remains unknown. Yannone was arraigned in the Town of Crawford court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of bail.
