Port Jervis narcotics arrests

On April 14, 2014, police arrested Eric Freudenberg, age 36, of Port Jervis, on Pike Street, on a warrant out of the Town of Deerpark Court. Subsequent to that arrest, Port Jervis detectives charged Freudenberg with three counts of Disseminating indecent material to minors in the second degree, a class E felony, based upon an investigation into a complaint that Freudenberg had sent obscene digital images to a 13 year old female on Facebook.

Detectives also charged Freudenberg with one count of Criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony, and Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony. These charges were based on an investigation which revealed that Freudenberg had sold a narcotic drug to another person. Freudenberg was arraigned in Port Jervis City Court before the Honorable Victoria B. Campbell, City Court Judge, and remanded to the custody of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on $25,000 cash/$200,000 bond bail pending further court action.

April 15th, 2014

Port Jervis Police arrested Earle Hoyte, age 31 , of 25 Mechanic Street, Port Jervis and charged him with numerous drug and traffic charges.

At about 4:10PM, Hoyte was operating a 2005 Ford Minivan on Jersey Ave and did fail to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk. A Patrol Officer stopped Hoyte on Jersey Ave and upon further investigation, found Hoyte to be in possession of marihuana and cocaine. Mr. Hoyte fled the scene in his minivan before he could be taken into custody by the officer. Several PJ Police Officers joined in a brief pursuit which ended on South Maple Ave, near the New Jersey Border. Hoyte was taken into custody and charged with the following offenses : Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd and 4th degree ( with intent to sell ) , Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of Marihuana , and numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations.

Officers seized : 7 grams of cocaine, a club-type weapon, $942.00 in cash , a small quantity of marihuana, and Hoyte's 2005 Ford minivan was also seized.

Hoyte was held overnight in city lock-up to await arraignment in PJ City Court.

APRIL 17, 2014.

Members of the Port Jervis City Police Department, in conjunction with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Group, and the Orange County District Attorney's Office, executed a Port Jervis City Court “no knock” search warrant at an apartment located at 12 Orange Street in Port Jervis. The warrant was served as part of an ongoing investigation into the illicit sale...s of heroin and other controlled substances in Port Jervis.

A subsequent search of the apartment yielded quantities of heroin and methadone. Detectives arrested Brittany Collins, age 25, and Michael Fodi, age 28, both residents of the apartment, and charged them with Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (possession with intent to sell), a class B felony, and Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor. Both were being held pending arraignments in Port Jervis City Court.
