Monticello Police arrested Daniel Ridley (28) of Monticello on Friday 2/28/14. Ridley was charged with felony assault in the 2nd degree and misdemeanor menacing in the 2nd degree. Ridley was arrested after Monticello police received a complaint from a 29 year-old Monticello woman reporting that Ridley had punched her in the face and also displayed what appeared to be a revolver and threatened to kill her.
The incident took place at a residence in the village of Monticello at approximately 7:30 PM on Thursday 2/27/14. The victim who is an acquaintance of Ridley sustained a nasal fracture as a result of the assault and was treated at CRMC. Ridley was located by Monticello police on Friday and arrested. Ridley was arraigned in the village of Monticello justice court before village justice Josephine Finn and remanded to the Sullivan county jail on $25,000.00 bail pending further court action.
Ridley is also currently on probation in Sullivan County for a prior conviction of criminal contempt in the 2nd degree in the Town of Fallsburg justice court.
