Parksville man arrested for operating pot grow house

On November 5th, 2013, State Police at Liberty executed search warrants at two residences in the Town of Liberty after a two month investigation into the growing of marijuana. The search warrants uncovered a large-scale, sophisticated marijuana growing operation.
State Police seized several hundred mature marijuana plants, some over six feet tall. Also seized was marijuana ready for sale, and several thousands of dollars worth of growing equipment.
State Police arrested Edgar Ramirez, age 55, of Parksville, NY. Ramirez was charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the First Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, both felonies, and Unlawfully Growing Cannabis, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail with no bail set
