The NEW YORK STATE POLICE at Wurtsboro, NY announce the arrest of TIMOTHY R. SMITH, 28 years old, of Main Street, Bloomingburg, NY for Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the first degree, a felony, and Unlawfully Growing Cannabis, a misdemeanor under the Public Health Law.

Troopers from SP Wurtsboro developed information regarding a possible marihuana grow house operating in the Village of Bloomingburg. On August 21, 2013, a search warrant was executed at a Main Street apartment, resulting in the seizure of approximately 30 growing marihuana plants and over $7,000.00 in growing equipment

SMITH was committed to the Sullivan County jail, no bail, pending a court appearance on August 23, 2013 in the Town of Mamakating Court. Investigation is continuing.
