On Sunday 07/28/13 the Village of Liberty Police Department arrested Richard Moreno, 45 of Liberty after responding to a disturbance. Police were called to Lake Street around 3:00pm for reports of a man threatening someone with a baseball bat.

Upon police arrival Moreno was found in the middle of the road waving a metal baseball bat and threatening to harm another individual. Moreno was immediately arrested by officers and taken into custody without further incident.

Moreno was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree, a felony, menacing in the 2nd degree a misdemeanor and disorderly conduct a violation. Moreno was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.
