Narrowsburg man arrested for stealing drugs

On July 4 at approximately 5 p.m., troopers from the New York State Police substation in Narrowsburg responded to a report of a residential burglary on Fourth Street in the hamlet of Narrowsburg. The homeowner reported coming home to find that a screen door had been cut and prescription medication was missing from the home.

While conducting area interviews, troopers located Aaron Esselman, age 30, of Narrowsburg sitting in the grass nearby, disoriented. An investigation determined that Esselman had forced entry into the home and stolen medication including Oxycontin and Clonazepam.

Esselman was charged with Burglary 2nd degree, Criminal Mischief 4th degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree and Petit Larceny. He was arraigned in the Town of Tusten Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail with bail set at $20,000 cash.
