On 06/20/13 at approx. 2:30 p.m. the Honesdale Borough Police were dispatched to Stephen’s Pharmacy on Main Street, for a report of a retail theft.

Upon arrival, staff members of the pharmacy identified 18-year-old Paulette Hurtado of Olyphant, PA and 30-year-old Tiffany Garthwaite of Tafton, PA, to the officers.

Upon completing the investigation it was found that Huratado and Garthwaite were in the pharmacy shopping. While in the pharmacy they removed items from the shelves and placed them in their purses. These actions were observed by staff members who in turn notified the police.

Huratado and Garthwaite were both arrested for summary retail theft and issued non-traffic citations.
