The New York State Police at Wurtsboro announced the arrest of Reese Herrmann, age 19, of Bloomingburg, NY, for the felony charges of Assault in the second degree and Criminal Mischief in the third degree. He was also arrested for the misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief and resisting arrest as well as the violations of disorderly conduct, harassment in the second degree and trespass. Austin Dunn, age 19, of Middletown, NY, was arrested for disorderly conduct.
On June 19 at 7:30 p.m. troopers from the Wurtsboro Barracks were dispatched to a large fight in progress at the Whispering Pines Trailer Park in Bloomingburg. The investigation revealed that Herrmann and Dunn were the principle participants in the fight.
At 11 p.m. the two were located on Mountain Rd., Bloomingburg, NY. While being taken into custody, Herrmann resisted arrest and kicked out a rear side window of the police vehicle which
resulted in a Trooper being injured by the shattering glass.
Herrmann was eventually subdued and charged as above. The injured Trooper was treated for his injuries and released.
On June 20 Herrmann was arraigned in the Town of Mamakating Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in pending a future court appearance in the Town of Mamakating Court. Dunn was released for a future court date.
