Fugitive from justice arrested in Honesdale

On May 31, 2013 at approximately 6 p.m., the Honesdale Borough Police stopped Joshua Requena, 35, of Honesdale for speeding.

Upon checking the status of Requena’s driver’s licenses it was found that he was wanted on three separate warrants out of Suffolk County NY. The warrants included charges consisting of two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

As a result of the warrants, Requena was taken into custody by Borough Police and charged with being a fugitive from justice from the State of NY. Requena was arraigned in front of MDJ Edwards where bail was set at $75,000. Unable to post bail, Requena was remanded to the Wayne County Prison where he will await extradition back to Suffolk County, NY.
