Livingston Manor man arrested for stealding from BOCES lock box

Sullivan County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a maintenance worker at BOCES in Liberty for stealing students’ money. Justin M. Wood, 19, of Livingston Manor was charged Friday (5/31/13) after a month long investigation where a total of $155 dollars was taken from a locked box in a teacher’s desk.

Wood, who has worked at the school since February, knew where the teacher hid the key. It is alleged that the suspect would enter the classroom after school hours and access the lock box.

Deputies were aided in their investigation by a hidden camera that had been installed in the room. The money was intended for field trips and other student activities. The suspect was charged with 2 counts of petit larceny and issued an appearance ticket. He is due back in the Town of Liberty Court on Thursday June 13, 2013.
