Murder and suicide in Town of Cornwall

On April 26, 2013 the New York State Police in conjunction with the Town of Cornwall Police Department investigated a homicide that occurred at 52 Clinton Street, Apt #3, in the Town of Cornwall, Orange County, NY.

Mrs. Sabine Icart, age 44, was found injured in her residence and transported to St. Lukes Hospital, Cornwall Campus, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Investigation revealed that Mrs. Icart succumbed to 2 fatal gunshot wounds.

Mrs. Icart’s estranged husband, Bernard Icart, became a person of interest. Working in conjunction with several police and law enforcement agencies Mr. Icart was located in Ozone Park, Queens. Subsequent investigation by New York City Police Department revealed that Mr. Icart had committed suicide at the residence in Queens.

Assisting in the investigation were members of the New York State Police Troop “F” Forensic Investigation Unit, Major Crimes Unit, Canine Division, Computer Crimes Unit, Orange County District Attorney’s Office the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office.

In addition, State Police in New York City as well as members of the 106th Precinct in New York City assisted with the investigation in Queens. Several other agencies from New York City and Florida assisted with the investigation.
