Monticello father and sons arrested on multiple weapons charges

Monticello police with the assistance from the new York State Police Special Operation Response Team (S.O.R.T.) and the new York State Police Aviation Unit executed a ‘No-Knock” search warrant at 4:50 AM to 13 Edward avenue in the village of Monticello on Monday 4/22/13.

Arrested were the following father and his 2 sons: Eric Ivan (48), Conner Ivan (25) and Dustin Ivan (26) all of 13 Edward Avenue Monticello.

The defendants were each charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd and 3rd degrees, 3 counts of misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree, conspiracy in the 5th degree, growing cannabis, criminally using drug paraphernalia, unlawfully dealing with fireworks and unlawful possession of marihuana.

Investigating officers recovered 4 rifles, 5 shotguns, a sawed down shotgun, 3 handguns guns, ammunition, marijuana plants, unlawfully possessed fireworks and various drug paraphernalia’s. One of the handguns which was a .380 caliber Sig Sauer model P230 was reported stolen from the state of Florida in December of 2010.

The defendants are currently being held in the Monticello Police lockup awaiting an arraignment later this evening in the village of Monticello Justice Court. The Sullivan County District Attorney's Office also assisted the Monticello police with the investigation.
