Liberty woman arrested for filing false instrument

On Friday April 12th 2013 the Village of Liberty Police Department arrested Toni Fracasse, 26 of Liberty after an investigation into the fraudulent filing of documents with the Sullivan County Department of Family Services.

The Village of Liberty Police Department Detective Division and the Sullivan County Department of Family Services Fraud Investigation Unit began investigating after it was learned that Fracasse had filed for benefits and had listed false information on the application pertaining to who was living in her home in the Village of Liberty.

Fracasse was charged with two counts of offering a false instrument for filing in the 1st degree, felonies and petit larceny a misdemeanor. Fracasse was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
