Rock throwing arrest

On April 4, 2013 the New York State Police at Kingston arrested two juveniles for throwing rocks at cars on SR 28 in the Town of Ulster. At approximately 5:30pm, New York State Police received a report of rocks hitting a car on SR 28 at Hurley Mountain Rd.
Additional calls were received by Ulster County 911 reports subjects throwing rocks from the cliffs onto the roadway below. Responding patrols spotted the juveniles in the woods on the cliffs above. Numerous patrols scoured the area and located the two juveniles on nearby street. The two juveniles were taken into custody and charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree and Criminal Mischief 4th degree.
The juveniles were relaesed to the custody of their parents and are due to appear in the Ulster County Family court at a latter date. Ulster County Sheriff Deputies and Town of Ulster Police assisted at the scene The investigation is continuing if anyone who was in the area of SR 28 and Hurley Mountain Rd, prior to 5:30pm has any information they are asked to call State Police Kingston at 338-1702.
