Shohola man arrested for Barryville burglary

On Saturday February 2, 2013 Sullivan County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Daniel Hipsman, 21, of Shohola, PA for burglary, petit larceny and criminal mischief. Hipsman admitted to breaking into the Towne Diner in Barryville on January 23, 2013 and stealing approximately $40 dollars in cash.

Hipsman was arraigned before Town Justice Anthony LaRuffa and sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail. Deputies are working with other police agencies to investigate the recent rash of burglaries in the Town of Highland area.. According to reports, the Towne Diner has been hit a total of 3 times in the past 2 months, as well as St. Anthony's Church in Yulan and St. Ann's Church, just over the bridge in Sholoa, PA.
