A Monticello woman has been charged grand larceny in connection with the theft of approximately $140,000 from an elderly relative. Lila Puzio, 34, was arrested by Sheriff's Detective's on Tuesday December 11, 2012.

It is alleged that she gained access to the elderly relative's bank accounts and systematically pilfered $140,000 over the past year by forging the relative's name, and making unauthorized ATM withdrawls.

Puzio is self employed and owns a hair styling salon in Monticello. The suspect was charged with 3 counts of Grand Larceny and 2 counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, all Felonies. She was arraigned before County Court Judge Michael McGuire and sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. She is due back in the Town of Thompson Court Wednesday 12/12/12 at 4:00 PM.
